Kelly Floyd is a native Charlottean who received her B.S. of Psychology with a minor in biology from Wingate University in 2001. While at Wingate she played varsity basketball and participated in other intramural sports and organizations.

Kelly advanced her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received her Master of Physical Therapy in 2003. She has been an active member in the American Physical Therapy Association since 2001.

She enjoys advancing her skills and knowledge base by attending continuing education courses that focus on manual therapy techniques. Currently, she is in the process of becoming a Certified Mulligan Specialist and desires to obtain Orthopedic and Manual Therapy Specialization Certifications as well as to become a certified Pilates instructor.

She specializes in treating problems relating to spinal dysfunction. Her client-centered approach to wellness combines the utilization of functional exercise programs and hands-on techniques.

In February 2007 she established Elite Physical Therapy. Her dedication to her patients and profession drive her to make Elite the premiere rehabilitation facility in Charlotte and the surrounding areas.

When not practicing physical therapy, Kelly enjoys an active lifestyle that includes tennis, triathlons, snow-skiing, and cheering for the North Carolina Tarheels.

Lesley Tedesco, Joe’s wife, received her B.S. in Athletic Training/ Sports Medicine from University of Florida in 2002.  Lesley’s initial experience in athletic training included work with various high schools, sports camps, clinics, the University of Florida Volleyball team, and ankle research.  Personal experience in physical therapy after multiple knee surgeries sparked Lesley’s interest in pursuing her career goal.

Lesley advanced her education at Duke University where she received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2005.  She is active in professional organizations such as the American Physical Therapy Association, attending numerous conferences all over the country.

Lesley has completed multiple continuing education courses from the esteemed University of St. Augustine, striving to be a Certified Manual Therapist.  In addition, she is focusing future efforts to earn an Orthopedic Specialization Certification from the APTA as well certification in pilates instruction.

Lesley is a published author of a case report in the Journal of Sports Physical Therapy in 2006 entitled “Diagnosis of a rare source of upper extremity symptoms in a healthy woman after weight lifting.”

Lesley excels in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the challenge of treating a wide variety of patients.  Her passion is to continue community involvement, as she has lectured for various organizations such as the Leukemia Foundation’s Team–In-Training.  Lesley’s compassion and desire to continue learning will further improve patient quality of care.

Lesley and Joe focus on functional strength training while enjoying a very active lifestyle, including hiking, biking and a variety of sports.  Of course, seasons are defined by Gator Football in the fall and Duke Basketball in the spring.
